Just got back from my favorite city last week! I went for 2 weeks, work & play!

I have a an artist friend who runs a gallery & shop space in Kreuzberg, Berlin called; “Let it Bleed”! I was invited to participate in a mini residence there during my time!

I loved being able to draw in their space, at the same time look after the shop, and get to chat to all the clients that came in! Here is a few images of the work I managed to do…

 

I was also able to sell my new brand Parallel Project (www.parallelprojectdesign.com) in the shop part, I was delighted by the huge response!! You can still find my brand and some original drawings for sale in Let it Bleed! Thanks everyone that popped in and supported me!

About ‘An Irish Airman Foresees His Death’
To mark the 100th Anniversary of the end of 1st World War Hamilton Gallery has chosen W B Yeats poem ‘An Irish Airman Foresees His Death’ as the catalyst for its Invited Artists Exhibition 2018. The poem addresses the dichotomy that existed and still exists around the Irish response to The Great War 1914 -1918.

This is the fourth iteration of Hamilton Gallery’s Annual Invited Artists exhibition series themed around the works of W B Yeats.

Light refreshments will be available at the opening

I am delighted to be part of this art festival in Valencia this week! The official opening is tomorrow night from 19 hrs in the Centre Del Carmen, Calle Museo, 2! (Sounds familiar? Yep, It’s the same place as the last show, which is still on till January, but in a different space)

The festival is on till this Sunday 19th of November, loads of gallery spaces, and artists studios open to the public! You can check out the itinerary and map of all the spaces on there web page!

I have attached below the 10 pieces of work that I am showing in the Museum, Centro del Carmen!

“Lisa Gingles’ drawings depict human-animal composites on found paper.  The figures in these works are emulating the typical poses of the bragging hunter and incorporate  African animals which are under threat of extinction.”

 

I have been so busy I didn’t post the last, but not least, group exhibition that I was part of! It was more than a group show for me and all the artists involved, it was a statement, a voice and a right!

The platform Valencia Capital Animal is organising from September 27, 2017 to January 7, 2018 a series of activities, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, etc. in the Center of Carmen with the common objective of informing, sensitizing and raising awareness about the reality of animals in our society. This autumn comes loaded with solidarity events in Valencia!

The inauguration of this event took place on September 27 at 18:30! There was a huge turn out!!

Another of the most important activities that is framed within Valencia Capital Animal is the Vegan Fair of Valencia that will be celebrated the days 2 and 3 of December.

I am delighted to be showing again in the Hamilton Gallery in Sligo next Thursday, 7th of September from 6pm! I am flying over for the opening, and would be delighted to see you there! I will be showing a variety of work in small series.

The exhibition continues till Saturday 30th of September.

Well quite a busy September really, next week 2 openings, one in Hamilton Gallery in Sligo, and one in Valencia, then at the end at september, in the Centro del Carmen (will post about those really soon!!)

Next week on Friday 8th of September, from 20:00 onwards, Standard Galeria y Estudios are opening their new studio spaces. There will be a viewing for artists and buyers to see the brand new studios that they have set up here in Valencia, and also a chance to see some works of local artists showing in the actual spaces for rent! I will be showing several older pieces, unframed and super reduced prices!!
