In this exhibition I have put together fragments of all my previous work, some of which will be going to another show held in Belfast in February next year. So it´s probably the last time to see this work in Spain, at least for a while.

It would be great to see you at the opening!

Busy month!

Hi everyone!! Its been a busy month so far, finished a commissioned piece, using a real butterfly this time! Was really lovely to work with such a delicate insect, and all its meanings behind it, and the piece, made making it very special!

I have also been preparing for my new mini job; teaching art in English to kids!!

Thanks to my great friend and artist Raquel Carrero, she has given me the opportunity to teach art in English to a group of 5-8 year old´s in her workshop. The course starts on the 11th of October, once a week. I am so excited about this new wee job, it will be a real adventure!

We are having an Open Day on the 17th of September, so you can come along and check out the workshops, and of course meet us! See you soon!

Next up Train Station Exhibiton….

I love it when new venues appear to show art!! This Wednesday 13th of July from 19:30 is the opening of the show.

I am delighted to be involved in this collective exhibition, with my favorite artists and friends; Raquel Carrero, Susana Do Santos & Regina Quesdada!

The space is part of the Up Hostel, joined right at the hip of the Estación del Norte, in Valencia!

The theme we chose is “The Passenger”! It has a wide meaning for each artist. My principal work is with butterflies. With it´s meaning of transformation and resurrection, a passenger of life!

“In the Old World, the connotation was negative; the butterfly was thought to be the spirit of the dead. In Gnostic art, the angel of death is depicted crushing a butterfly underfoot. Its attraction to flame and light symbolize purification by fire. Sailors who saw a butterfly prior to embarkation believed that they would die at sea. In some areas of England, it is thought that butterflies contain the souls of children who have come back to life. Elsewhere in England, a person is supposed to kill the first butterfly they see or face a year of bad luck; if that first butterfly in spring is yellow, sickness is in store for the entire family. Only in Scotland and Ireland does the appearance of a golden butterfly signify something good – it is believed that a golden butterfly near the dead ensures the soul’s place in heaven.” (www.purespirit.com)
